Innovative Technology

Having received the Best Innovative Safety Award 2003, Shoes For Crews (Europe) Limited have continued to strive to deliver the most innovative and up-to-date technological advancements in all areas of work footwear.

New anti bacterial, anti fungal compound

The latest breakthrough consists of a specially formulated anti bacterial compound which acts as an anti-fungal treatment for the eradication of harmful pathogens, bacteria, fungi and viruses.

This compound is impregnated into the soles of Shoes For Crews footwear, ensuring a more thorough solution to standard sterilisation is achieved. Re-inoculation is minimised as the compound is not just applied to the surface of the sole, rather injected into the mould of the sole.

Sanitisation process – protects you against odours and bacteria

Microbes, i.e. bacteria, mould, fungi and yeasts act as catalysts in numerous biological processes.  Textiles are especially vulnerable to microbe related problems, whether owing to their contact with the human body or due to difficult environmental conditions. Clear signs of microbial infestation are perspiration odours or a mouldy smell – which in footwear is a common occurrence.

To overcome this microscopic infection, Shoes For Crews have teamed up with Sanitized, the global leader in antimicrobial protection, to apply the concept of sanitization to the lining of Shoes For Crews footwear. Sanitized has been proven to permanently inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeasts and fungi on textiles.

These new innovations have the potential to be extremely popular as health, hygiene and the risk of spreading harmful bacteria and micro organisms become increasingly sensitive issues across several industries.

What makes Shoes For Crews the most slip-resistant?
Our sole is created with a combination of a special rubber compound and tread design providing for maximum slip-resistance. The unique rubber compound grips the microscopic roughness of the floor surface, while the grid-pattern channels the liquids out from under the shoe sole.

Why are some soles more slip-resistant than others?
Different sole compounds and tread designs create different coefficients of friction. Therefore, some grip the floor better than others.

Are all 'safety shoes' slip-resistant?
No. Only those labeled slip-resistant. But just because it has that label doesn't mean you won't slip. To earn that label you only have to have a minimal degree of slip resistance.

Does 'oil-resistant' mean the same as slip-resistant?
No. Generally that refers to the shoe's upper material. However, our shoes are oil resistant as well as slip resistant on both wet and greasy or oily surfaces.

Are your soles guaranteed not to slip?
Please remember that NO sole is 100% slip-proof. It is important to combine Shoes For Crews with proper floor maintenance to achieve maximum slip and fall incident reduction.
